Fleet Reserve Association Unit 40 Supports Chesapeake’s Kids

fraA huge thank-you goes out to Fleet Reserve Association Unit and Branch 40 for their donation of 240 books to Chesapeake’s Kids!  The Fleet Reserve Association is a 90 year old organization made up of active duty, retirees, and veterans from the Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard. The Organization’s primary mission is to educate congressmen and the general public on the needs of America’s  active duty, retirees and veterans. They also work to provide a social atmosphere for members to promote American Values, provide Patriotic service and welfare projects in the local communities. The Auxiliary is made up of spouses, widows, widowers, children, grandchildren, parents, grandparents of those eligible for membership in the Association.

FRA Unit 40 heard about Chesapeake’s Kids through one of our volunteers, Christine Galoppa.  Christine was spreading the love about our book project and sparked the interest of Christina Murray, one of the members of Unit 40.  Christina asked the auxiliary members if they could help by cleaning out their closets and or purchasing some new books. The goal was to get at least 1 book from every member. In the end 240 books were collected by members of the Fleet Reserve Association Unit and Branch 40 members!
